 Pronunciation is the key to professional communication

Date and Venue:

                  The lecture was held on 25th of August 2022, First floor of Bhasha Sangam block in Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College.

Resource person:

                  Dr. P. Suresh, Assistant professor, Department of English(DGVC) shared his knowledge and experience to the students.

Detailed Report:

                  The event held by ABL: Activity Based Learning club enhanced the expertise of the scholars towards the importance of pronunciation and how it is impactful in our day-to-day life. Furthermore,  many topics related to pronunciation were discussed. Competency, speaking skills and accent learning are some of such topics taken. The event ended with an interactive session, where students clarified their queries. In addition to this, test conversations were created between students to enhance the pronunciation and accent. The session helped the scholars to acknowledge the importance of practical English pronunciation and how it benefits employability.

  Event-Report: The P.G Department of English organized Parent Teacher Meeting for MA English students on 5 th  February 2026   for the even semester of the academic year 2025-26. Parents and their respective wards were requested to attend the meeting between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The class-in-charges, Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Raveena Neeraj Kumar of I MA and II MA English discussed the students’ discipline, academic performance, punctuality, classroom interaction, dress code and participation in co-curricular activities with the parents. Parents’ queries related to their wards were clarified. Parents’ feedback was also collected.  Outcome of Event: The PTM helped establish an acquaintance between the class-in-charges and the parents. Two Day Life Skills Enhancement Workshop on "Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience"

Date and Time: 10th October 2023 to 11th October 2023, 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Venue: Cauvery Block, Sports Complex, First Floor Faculty Coordinator: Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Krithika A PG Department of English organised a two-day workshop titled “ Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience ” on 10th and 11th October 2023. The aim of the workshop is to provide adaptive, emotional and positive behaviour that enable students to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. The Day 1 (10.10.2023) Session 1 : was commenced with the college prayer followed by Welcome address. Then Mr. J.
