PG department of English organized an ABL (Activity based learning) session on the topic, Enriching competency of English on “Idioms-Effective Usages” on September 29 2022 at 1:30 pm. The programme co-ordinator, Ms. Krithika. A carried out the ABL session, engagingly with help up interactive sessions, quizzes, puzzles, riddles made the process of learning of idiom, fun-filled. Students participated enthusiastically and were benefitted from this session.The student co-ordinators Sunil.S III B.A & Vishal Shenoy II M.A along with the Head i/c Mr. J. Praveen Prabhu, principal Dr. S. Santhosh Baboo, Secretary Shri. Ashok kumar Mundhra were also instrumental in organizing and making the programme, a success. 

P.G. Department of English & Litluminary association organized the students for a museum visit at Chennai Egmore museum , to commemorate ‘World tourism day' on 27.9.2022 . This museum visit is harmonised by our joint organising secretary  Ms. Nandhini Praveen , along with organizing committee members Yuvashree. M and Vignesh. S from 3 rd B.A.English. Students explored all the blocks, and they found them highly educational as well as really enjoyable. Art gallery and the block of animal anatomy were the show stealers. National Level Literary E-Quiz  Remembering the Literary Celebutante T. S. Eliot PG department of English organized national level literary E-Quiz commemorating the literary figure, T.S Eliot on 26 September 2022 . The faculty organiser was Dr. Lakshmy Ravindranathan . The foremost outcome of this platform is to widen the knowledge of the students and scholars by enriching them with in depth, unknown facts of Eliot.  The quiz was conducted via online and had a great impact, as it received more than 500 responses.  Certificates were distributed to the participants. Most of the students commented, “ It was a great experience to take up this wonderful quiz ".  Exchanging of ideas and knowledge makes a human to grow better than before.  “Humankind cannot bear very much reality” by T.S Eliot.    

  A session on Alumni motivational talk was held at Bhasha Sangam block. The Event Co-ordinator  was Mrs. Raveena Neeraj Kumar . The speakers of the event were the alumni of DG Vaishnav college, Divya Madhughandran , Executive - Cognizant Technology Solutions (HR) and S. Haribalasiranjeevi , DEAN of Budhha IAS Academy Proprietor- Seethalakshmi Event Management.               Ms. Divya discussed on HR profession and the value of it’s progression. She also highlighted the preference for English graduates in the field, due to their creativity and efficient language. It was informative, motivational and a guiding session for students.                Secondly  Mr. S. Haribalasiranjeevi addressed the students who were preparing for Civil service exams and provided sufficient tips to crack the competitive exam.    PG department of English & Litjamboree Association organized “International peace day celebration” on 21st September 2022 about the prolocutor of peace & well-being.                It was held under the supervision of Joint Organising Secretary Ms. Lakshmy Ravindranathan  and the organising committee members for the event were S. Fasila Jasmine  & S. Preethi of II B.A. The objective of this event, was to promote peace among students and to recognise the efforts of those who had worked hard to eliminate conflicts and promote peace.                The resource person Dr. P. The seminar on career opportunities was held on 20 September 2022 at Sri Vallabhacharya Vidhya Sabha Auditorium, for both BA English and MA English students. There were three resource persons for this event, who shed light on various career opportunities.                  The keynote speaker of the first session was Dr. V. Meena kumari , Associate Professor at Anna Adharsh College for Women. On the occasion of Chennai Literary Festival , the PG Department of English conducted an intercollegiate competitions “Face painting” & “Tune a poem” on 10th September 2022.   FACE PAINTING      The PG department of English and Chennai literary association organized a 'Face painting' event on  10th September 2022  in Ethiraj college for women. The joint organizing faculty of this event was Ms. Krithika A . The topics for the event, were given on the spot to judge the participants’ creativity.
