Seminar on Career opportunities

The seminar on career opportunities was held on 20 September 2022 at Sri Vallabhacharya Vidhya Sabha Auditorium, for both BA English and MA English students. There were three resource persons for this event, who shed light on various career opportunities. 

                The keynote speaker of the first session was Dr. V. Meena kumari, Associate Professor at Anna Adharsh College for Women. Dr. Meena enlightened the students on the topic "Literature and Placements" and broadened their perspective about career paths by enlightening them regarding numerous career opportunities. 

                This was followed by another interesting session on "Education Abroad and Opportunities" by Mr. M. Mohammed Hashique, Regional Marketing Manager- South India, SI-UK. He explained about the educational opportunities in different universities abroad and the perks of studying there. He also discussed the details regarding the eligibility, expenses and opportunities available in various universities abroad.  

              Dr. P. Suresh, Assistant Professor, Department of English Shift - I DDGDVC, took the third session on "Diversified Scopes of UG & PG English". He detailed about some of the least explored career options and encouraged students to pursue them. The event was successful and constructive. It received a splendid response from the students.

  Event-Report: The P.G Department of English organized Parent Teacher Meeting for MA English students on 5 th  February 2026   for the even semester of the academic year 2025-26. Parents and their respective wards were requested to attend the meeting between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The class-in-charges, Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Raveena Neeraj Kumar of I MA and II MA English discussed the students’ discipline, academic performance, punctuality, classroom interaction, dress code and participation in co-curricular activities with the parents. Parents’ queries related to their wards were clarified. Parents’ feedback was also collected.  Outcome of Event: The PTM helped establish an acquaintance between the class-in-charges and the parents. It helped in understanding students behaviour and performance. It brought out new approaches to solve the problems of the students.

Two Day Life Skills Enhancement Workshop on "Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience"

Date and Time: 10th October 2023 to 11th October 2023, 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Venue: Cauvery Block, Sports Complex, First Floor Faculty Coordinator: Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Krithika A PG Department of English organised a two-day workshop titled “ Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience ” on 10th and 11th October 2023. The aim of the workshop is to provide adaptive, emotional and positive behaviour that enable students to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
