National Conference on ' Approaches towards Science Fiction and Artificial Intelligence in English Language and Literature
The P. G. Department of English conducted a National Conference on "Approaches towards Science Fiction and Artificial Intelligence in English Language and Literature" on 26th October, 2023. The Guest of Honour for the inauguration was Mr G Grahadurai, Deputy Director, Range Operations, SDSC - SHAR, ISRO, Srihari Kota.
The Keynote speaker was Dr Raisun Mathew, Assistant Professor, Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Kerla. Mr J Praveen Prabhu, Head, PG Department of English delivered the Welcome Address followed by the felicitation of Visiting Dignitaries and the Principal. Dr S Santhosh Baboo, Principal, DDGDVC addressed the audience and congratulated the department for fostering e research. Mr G M Prem Kumar, Assistant Professor, PG Department of English delivered the Vote of thanks. After the inauguration, presenters proceeded to their respective venue where their presentations were evaluated by Chair persons from outside colleges.
Around 80 participants presented their papers in 6 sessions including a virtual session.
The Valediction ceremony commenced at 2:00 pm. The guest of Honour was Dr Sherine Vinoca Snehalatha, Principal, Meston College of Education, Chennai. Dr Malabika Mithra, author and entrepreneur was the Resource person. The welcome address was delivered by Dr Lakshmy Ravindranathan, Assistant Professor, P G Department of English and the vote of thanks was given by Ms Raveena Neeraj Kumar, Assistant Professor, P G Department of English.
Outcome
The programme was well received by Chair persons, presenters and participants.
Presenters were exposed to multiple topics and research areas pertaining to Science fiction and Artificial Intelligence.
