The P.G. Department of English conducted an Industrial Visit to, 'The New Indian Express' on 25th January 2024 for its III BA, I MA & II MA students. The Industrial visit offered an invaluable opportunity for students of English Literature to bridge gap between their academic knowledge and the practical application of language in the real world. As renowned media organisaion, The New Indian Express provided students with a firsthand experience of the dynamic and fast paced field of journalism.
During the visit, students will get a behind the scene look at the editorial process, witnessing how news stories are researched, written, and edited. This exposure allowed them to understand the importance of language precision, clarity, and engaging storytelling in journalism. They also gained insights into the role of language in shaping public opinion and influencing societal narratives.
Furthermore, the visit provided a platform for students to interact with seasoned jornalists and editors, offering them the chance to ask questions, seek advice, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and responsibilities associated with journalistic writing.
