                                      Ms. Nandhini Praveen

The students of the PG Department of English visited the American Consulate on 6th July, 2023 as part of an experiential visit. A total number of 31 students from II M.A. and 2 faculty members were able to go to the library. The students gained good exposure in this visit as they spent more than 2 hours in the library. Moreover, all 31 students were able to get their membership and be there for the entire process.

Some of the benefits of this visit will be in terms of producing quality research papers, journal, articles and all the more, increasing one's critical area of thinking with all the extensive collection of books, journals and other research materials that covered a wide range of interests and academic disciplines available there.
Moreover, the library had access to countless online databases and e-books, enhancing the availability of research materials. For instance, the students had access to the Proquest, a database which had various journal articles, book, reviews and so on. The students were given the chance to make use of the plasma display and watch literary and other artistic movies.

Outcome:
The Library members appreciated the initiative of the department in motivating the students to become members of the U. S. Consultate Library. The students are grateful for this great opportunity which will benefit them greatly for future needs.
