Five Day Workshop on " Research Writing and Publication Ethics "

A five-day workshop, titled "Research Writing and Publication Ethics," was held on August 18th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2023. This comprehensive program aimed to equip postgraduate students with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the world of academic research writing and publication.

The workshop kicked off with Dr. Vinoth Kumar, Assistant Professor at Vel Tech Institute of Science and Technology, laying the groundwork. Through interactive activities, Dr. Vinoth Kumar imparted the three core principles of effective research writing. This foundation set the stage for subsequent sessions.

On day two, Dr. V. Sivaraman, Associate Professor at Presidency College, delved deeper into the specific techniques of "Academic Writing." This session likely provided students with practical tools and strategies to enhance their writing style and clarity.

Day three saw Dr. T. Prabhu, Assistant Professor at L. N. Government College of Arts and Science, guide participants through the intricate maze of research methodology. Titled "Literary Labyrinth: Workshop on Research Methods," this session likely provided students with a roadmap to design and execute sound research projects.

The focus shifted to technology on day four. Dr. A. Ganesan, Associate Professor at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, explored the ethical and effective utilization of AI tools for research. Specific applications of ChatGPT, Chat-PDF, Mendeley Reference Manager, and Research Rabbit were likely covered, demonstrating how these tools can streamline research activities.

The workshop culminated with Dr. K. C. Lalithambika, Vice Principal of Thiruthangal Nadar College, leading a session on the fundamentals of research writing. Through practical writing exercises, Dr. Lalithambika provided students with the opportunity to hone their skills and solidify their understanding of key concepts.

This well-rounded workshop served as a valuable resource for postgraduate students, empowering them to confidently navigate the often-complex world of research writing and publication ethics. By equipping students with the necessary tools and knowledge, the program ultimately aims to foster a new generation of successful academic researchers.
