The UGC NET/SET Study Circle was organized by the PG Department of English, Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, in association with LitJamboree, on 22nd December 2025 at 12.00 noon at Bhasha Sangam Hall (First Floor). The programme aimed at guiding MA English students aspiring to qualify the UGC NET/SET examination.

The session focused on understanding the examination pattern, identifying core areas, and adopting effective preparation strategies. Emphasis was laid on systematic planning, conceptual clarity, and consistent practice required for success in the examination. The interactive nature of the session enabled students to clarify their doubts and gain practical insights into exam-oriented preparation.

The programme was coordinated by Ms. Supraja J, Assistant Professor, PG Department of English, with active support from the student coordinators. The session proved to be informative, motivating, and highly beneficial for the participants, inspiring them to pursue their academic goals with renewed confidence and determination.

Outcome of Event:

To familiarize MA English students with the structure, syllabus, and evaluation pattern of the UGC NETSET examination

To introduce effective preparation strategies, time-management techniques, and smart study approaches

To motivate and guide aspirants towards qualifying UGC NETSET

  Event-Report: The P.G Department of English organized Parent Teacher Meeting for MA English students on 5 th  February 2026   for the even semester of the academic year 2025-26. Parents and their respective wards were requested to attend the meeting between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The class-in-charges, Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Raveena Neeraj Kumar of I MA and II MA English discussed the students’ discipline, academic performance, punctuality, classroom interaction, dress code and participation in co-curricular activities with the parents. Parents’ queries related to their wards were clarified. Parents’ feedback was also collected.  Outcome of Event: The PTM helped establish an acquaintance between the class-in-charges and the parents. It helped in understanding students behaviour and performance. It brought out new approaches to solve the problems of the students.

Two Day Life Skills Enhancement Workshop on "Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience"

Date and Time: 10th October 2023 to 11th October 2023, 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Venue: Cauvery Block, Sports Complex, First Floor Faculty Coordinator: Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Krithika A PG Department of English organised a two-day workshop titled “ Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience ” on 10th and 11th October 2023. The aim of the workshop is to provide adaptive, emotional and positive behaviour that enable students to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
