Day 1: 25th June 2025 (Wednesday)
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell proudly inaugurated the Student Induction Programme – Deeksharambh 2025 on 25th June 2025 at 9:00 a.m. in the College Ground. The event commenced with great enthusiasm and aimed to welcome and orient the new batch of students. The session was graced by Kalaimamani Marabin Maindan M. Muthaiah, Editor of Namadhu Nambikkai Magazine, as the Chief Guest. His inspiring presence set a meaningful tone for the induction proceedings.

Presenter: Dr. J. Praveen Prabhu, Head of the Department

The session provided an in-depth overview of the department, including its mission, vision, and various academic programs. Mr. Praveen Prabhu highlighted the department's commitment to fostering a rich learning environment and encouraged students to actively participate in departmental activities.

The second session focused on the theme "Abroad Career Opportunities". She provided valuable insights into global education pathways, application strategies, and the scope for international careers. Her session was highly informative and broadened the students’ perspectives on pursuing academic and professional aspirations abroad.

Presenter: Ms. Kadhambari R, Assistant Professor

The session emphasized the importance of holistic academic development. She highlighted the role of innovation in learning and the power of alumni networks in inspiring and guiding students. The session encouraged freshers to pursue excellence and stay connected with their academic roots.

Presenter: Ms. Nandhini Praveen, Assistant Professor

Ms. Nandhini Praveen elaborated on experiential learning, how field visits, community outreach, cultural engagement enrich academic understanding and build social responsibility. The session inspired students to explore learning opportunities outside the classroom and embrace holistic development.

Presenter: Office Bearers, PG Department of English

This interactive session was led by the Office Bearers of the PG Department of English. It aimed at encouraging new students to discover their strengths, actively participate in departmental initiatives, and build confidence through peer-led engagement. The session created an inclusive and motivating environment, laying the foundation for a vibrant academic journey.

 The session emphasized the importance of expression, creativity, and active participation. She highlighted the various platforms available for students to showcase their talents and build confidence through performance and leadership. The session was both engaging and empowering for the freshers.

Session 2: Fueling Dreams through Alumni
The session was delivered by an esteemed alumnus from the 2013–2016 batch. Currently serving as Dean and Senior Faculty at Buddha IAS Academy (P) Ltd, he shared his academic journey and professional milestones. His inspiring talk highlighted the role of perseverance, goal-setting, and the lasting value of college experiences. The session served as a motivational roadmap for students to chase their aspirations with confidence.

 Day 5: 1st July 2025 (Tuesday)

A comprehensive session dedicated to student engagement activities, including sports, clubs, and cultural events. The session highlighted the importance of active participation in extracurricular activities for personal growth.

Session 1: Active Campus Life: From Service to Festivities

Presenter: Ms. J. Supraja, Assistant Professor

The session highlighted the vibrant and inclusive culture of campus life. She spoke about student involvement in service-oriented activities, celebrations, and various clubs that foster a sense of community and belonging. The session encouraged freshers to actively participate and make the most of their college journey.

Session 2: Campus Ethics and Code of Conduct

Presenter: Mr. P. V. Narasimmarao, Assistant Professor

Presenter: Ms. Raveena Neeraj Kumar, Assistant Professor

 The session showcased the department's academic milestones and student-centered initiatives. She highlighted various scholarly pursuits, intercollegiate accomplishments, and collaborative learning opportunities. The session motivated students to actively engage in academic enrichment and take pride in their department's collective success.

Day 6: 2nd July 2025 (Wednesesday)

Session 1: Aligning Literature, Mind and Body

Presenter: Yoga Kalaimani Thenmozhi Srinivasan, Sri Satchidanantha Yoga Centre, Virugambakkam

The session led by Yoga Kalaimani Thenmozhi Srinivasan explored the connection between literature, mindfulness, and physical well-being. Participants engaged in simple breathing techniques and reflective activities. She highlighted how literature can nurture inner peace and self-awareness. The session offered a refreshing start to the day with both intellectual and emotional enrichment.

Session 2: Literature as a Catalyst for Human Potential

Presenter: Dr. S. Franklin Daniel, Associate Professor & Head of the Department of English, Madras Christian College

Dr. S. Franklin Daniel delivered an inspiring lecture on the transformative power of literature in shaping human values and potential. He emphasized how literary works cultivate empathy, critical thinking, and personal growth. Drawing from his vast academic experience, he connected literature to real-life challenges. The session was thought-provoking and deeply motivating for all participants.

Session 3: Bridging the Gap: School to Scholar

Presenter: Seniors of PG Department of English
