Report on a library visit :


      

A library visit to the US Consulate General ,was organised for the students of post graduate Department of English of DG VAISHNAV college. Around 50 students participated in this program, accompanied by the program coordinator Mrs.Nandhini praveen, Assistant professor,and student coordinators Tirishona.S and Devishree.N.

     

       Arrival and check in :

     

             The group reached the US Consulate library at 9.30 AM. Security check-ins were carried 

         Out with the assistance of the security staffs. After completing the formalities the students 

         entered the library premises.

   

       Facilitators of the session:

      

             The session was guided by Mr.Rishi and Mrs .Elizhabeth .They shared valuable insights.                                                 

           about the US Consulate Library, it's resources and higher education opportunities in the US.

       

       Orientation session:

           

  • Mr.Rishi and introduced the consulate, it's services and highlighted the American center resources including 15,000 books, cultural programmes and a 3D projector facility

  • Mrs.Elizabeth elaborated on the education centre, opportunities for higher education in the US and assured a free guidance to students.


        Library Facilities and Membership :

    

             Mr.Rishi and Mrs.Elizabeth highlighted the various facilities and services offered by the          

             U.S. Consulate Library. They explained about:

             The membership card (₹200 for D.G. Vaishnava College students).

             Access to E-Library USA and other online academic resources.

             Workshops and cultural programs, including the American 250th birthday workshop.

             Free resources and online courses for academic and professional growth.  

             A rich collection of movies and recreational materials

The library visit proved to be highly beneficial for the students.students gained Awareness of U.S. Consulate resources such as books, online platforms, and the E-Library U

Knowledge about higher education opportunities in the U.S. and guidance on the application process.

Understanding of the membership process and its advantages for academic and professional growth.
