Health Hustle Hygiene & Cancer Awareness Drive

The PG Department of English, under the guidance of Dr. J. Praveen Prabhu, Head of the Department, organized a highly impactful workshop titled “Health Hustle: Hygiene & Cancer Awareness Drive” on 22nd September 2025 at the Shri Vallabhacharya Auditorium. The event was held to commemorate World Rose Day – a day dedicated to the welfare of cancer patients – and aimed to create awareness on hygiene, cancer prevention, and the importance of mental well-being.
The first session was led by Dr. Sandhya Kalidas, MD (Hom), Director of Manasaa Homoeo Health Care. She shared valuable insights on the role of hygiene and holistic health in preventing diseases and leading a balanced life. Her talk emphasized simple yet powerful habits that can protect individuals from lifestyle-related illnesses.
This was followed by a session from Mr. Santhosh Lakshmanan, a renowned physiotherapist and lifestyle coach. His interactive session demonstrated practical exercises and lifestyle modifications that can help maintain physical fitness and improve immunity. Participants actively engaged, making the session lively and impactful.
The third and final session was delivered by Ms. Snehal S., Counselling Psychologist, who shed light on the psychological struggles faced by cancer patients and their families. Her session focused on building emotional strength, empathy, and a supportive environment for patients. The event concluded with a dynamic Q&A session, where students and faculty interacted with the speakers, clarifying their doubts and sharing their own reflections. The Department expressed its sincere gratitude to Principal Dr. S. Santhosh Baboo, faculty coordinators, student organizers, and the resource persons for their support and contributions that made the event a success
