Ideathon - The Words of Winners 2025

 Event-Report:

The PG Department of English organized Ideathon 2025 – The Words of Winners, held on December 19, 2025. The event featured a panel discussion and an interdepartmental competition on “Gamifying Literature”. The programme commenced with an address by Dr. J. Praveen Prabhu, Head, PG Department of English, who highlighted the significance of the event in today’s world and the relevance of gamification in contemporary literary studies.

The panel discussion featured eminent speakers Dr. R. Lakshmi Kumari, Associate Professor, PG Department of English, Patrician College of Arts and Science, Chennai; Dr. R. K. Jaishree Karthiga, Associate Professor, Department of English, VIT, Chennai; Ms. Vani Pradeep, Writer and International Poet, and Dr. Earnest Aaron J, Independent Scholar,  University of Madras, who shared valuable insights on transforming literary texts into interactive and game based learning experiences. The panelists were felicitated by Dr. C. Chidambaranathan, Head of the Department of Sociology. UG and PG students actively participated in the event by presenting innovative game ideas based on literary texts. The event concluded with the prize distribution for UG and PG Ideathon 2025 winners, followed by vote of thanks.


Outcome of Event:

Students explored innovative methods of literary interpretation through gamification.

Participants enhanced their creative thinking, teamwork, and presentation skills.

Students gained valuable insights from the panelists that enriched and supported their learning.

  Event-Report: The P.G Department of English organized Parent Teacher Meeting for MA English students on 5 th  February 2026   for the even semester of the academic year 2025-26. Parents and their respective wards were requested to attend the meeting between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The class-in-charges, Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Raveena Neeraj Kumar of I MA and II MA English discussed the students’ discipline, academic performance, punctuality, classroom interaction, dress code and participation in co-curricular activities with the parents. Parents’ queries related to their wards were clarified. Parents’ feedback was also collected.  Outcome of Event: The PTM helped establish an acquaintance between the class-in-charges and the parents. It helped in understanding students behaviour and performance. It brought out new approaches to solve the problems of the students.

Two Day Life Skills Enhancement Workshop on "Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience"

Date and Time: 10th October 2023 to 11th October 2023, 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Venue: Cauvery Block, Sports Complex, First Floor Faculty Coordinator: Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Krithika A PG Department of English organised a two-day workshop titled “ Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience ” on 10th and 11th October 2023. The aim of the workshop is to provide adaptive, emotional and positive behaviour that enable students to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. The Day 1 (10.10.2023) Session 1 : was commenced with the college prayer followed by Welcome address. Then Mr. J.
