   A Report on “Linking Words: The Conjunction Craze

The PG Department of English, Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College (Autonomous), in association with LITLUMINARY, organized an ABL Club (Activity Based Learning) session titled “Linking Words: The Conjunction Craze” on 22 December 2025 at 12:30 p.m. in FF-01, Basha Sangam for BA English students. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. J. Praveen Prabhu, Head of the Department, and the leadership of Capt. Dr. S. Santhosh Baboo, Principal, with support from Shri. Ashok Kumar Mundhra, Secretary.

    The session was coordinated by Mr. Narasimmarao P. V., Assistant Professor, and aimed at strengthening students’ grammatical competence through participatory and experiential learning strategies. Students actively engaged in collaborative tasks, games, and problem-solving activities focused on the functional use of conjunctions in spoken and written English.

    The programme enhanced learners’ understanding of linking words, improved communicative accuracy, and fostered teamwork and confidence. Overall, the activity effectively reinforced grammar concepts through activity-based pedagogy, aligning with outcome-oriented learning objectives.

Outcome of Event:

Students developed a clear and functional understanding of conjunctions and their appropriate use in sentence construction.

Learners enhanced their communication skills through active participation in activity-based and collaborative learning tasks.

The programme fostered confidence, teamwork, and learner engagement by integrating grammar learning with experiential methods.

  Event-Report: The P.G Department of English organized Parent Teacher Meeting for MA English students on 5 th  February 2026   for the even semester of the academic year 2025-26. Parents and their respective wards were requested to attend the meeting between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The class-in-charges, Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Raveena Neeraj Kumar of I MA and II MA English discussed the students’ discipline, academic performance, punctuality, classroom interaction, dress code and participation in co-curricular activities with the parents. Parents’ queries related to their wards were clarified. Parents’ feedback was also collected.  Outcome of Event: The PTM helped establish an acquaintance between the class-in-charges and the parents. Two Day Life Skills Enhancement Workshop on "Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience"

Date and Time: 10th October 2023 to 11th October 2023, 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Venue: Cauvery Block, Sports Complex, First Floor Faculty Coordinator: Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Krithika A PG Department of English organised a two-day workshop titled “ Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience ” on 10th and 11th October 2023.
