A Report on ‘LITEROSODY–2025

The PG Department of English, Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College (Autonomous), organised LITEROSODY–2025: Journey Towards Whimtasy on 24th December 2025 at 9.00 a.m. in the Dwaraka Auditorium. The literary event aimed to foster creativity, imagination, and performative skills among students through a blend of onstage and offstage competitions.

The programme was graced by Dr. Shobana, Vice Principal, Sindhi College of Arts and Science, Chennai, as the Chief Guest, whose presence inspired students to explore literature beyond conventional boundaries. The event featured vibrant onstage events such as Enchanted Tableau, Fantastic Monologue, Fabface Duel, and Mr. & Ms. Literosody, alongside engaging offstage events including Dreamrune Display, Ink of Enchantment, Mystic Mentor’s Crown, and 60 Seconds of Dreamlight.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. J. Praveen Prabhu, Head of the Department, Capt. Dr. S. Santhosh Baboo, Principal, and Dr. Ashok Kumar Mundhra, Secretary. The event was efficiently coordinated by faculty coordinators Ms. Jubilin V N Vinifa and Mr. P. V. Narasimmarao, with active support from student coordinators. LITEROSODY–2025 witnessed enthusiastic participation and successfully celebrated literary talent, creativity, and collaborative learning among students.

Outcome of Event:

1.The event strengthened students imaginative thinking, literary appreciation, and creative expression through diverse literary activities.

2.Participation in onstage events developed students confidence, public speaking, and presentation skills.

3.Organising and participating in the programme fostered leadership, teamwork, and experiential learning beyond the classroom.

  Event-Report: The P.G Department of English organized Parent Teacher Meeting for MA English students on 5 th  February 2026   for the even semester of the academic year 2025-26. Parents and their respective wards were requested to attend the meeting between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The class-in-charges, Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Raveena Neeraj Kumar of I MA and II MA English discussed the students’ discipline, academic performance, punctuality, classroom interaction, dress code and participation in co-curricular activities with the parents. Parents’ queries related to their wards were clarified. Parents’ feedback was also collected.  Outcome of Event: The PTM helped establish an acquaintance between the class-in-charges and the parents. It helped in understanding students behaviour and performance. It brought out new approaches to solve the problems of the students.

Two Day Life Skills Enhancement Workshop on "Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience"

Date and Time: 10th October 2023 to 11th October 2023, 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Venue: Cauvery Block, Sports Complex, First Floor Faculty Coordinator: Ms. Nandhini Praveen and Ms. Krithika A PG Department of English organised a two-day workshop titled “ Holistic Wellbeing and Resilience ” on 10th and 11th October 2023. The aim of the workshop is to provide adaptive, emotional and positive behaviour that enable students to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. The Day 1 (10.10.2023) Session 1 : was commenced with the college prayer followed by Welcome address. Then Mr. J.
