As renowned media organisaion, The New Indian Express provided students with a firsthand experience of the dynamic and fast paced field of journalism. Date and Time: 25th January 2024, 2:00 pm Venue : Connemara Public Library, Chennai Faculty Coordinator : Ms N Dhanalakshmi The PG Department of English, DDGD Vaishnav College, organised an ' Experiental Visit to Connemara public Library' for PG students. The Visit was intended to create awareness on reading activities among the students community. During the visit, the students enthusiastically looked around all the sections in one of the oldest libraries in the State of Tamilnadu. Moreover, to participate in any sort of research activity, the Post-graduate students need to understand the fundamental idea of 'searching' and 're-searching' for various resources in the library. Detailed report of the trip: The students of BA English went on a one day educational trip to Puducherry on 23rd December 2023, along with the respective class teachers and the Head of the Department, Mr. Praveen Prabhu. The Journey began with the blessings of God, as students and staff gathered for Pooja and rituals. The arranged transportation commenced at around 8 am from the college premises and arrived at Sadhana Forest, Auroville, Tamil Nadu, approximately by 1 pm. Warmly welcomed by members of the non-profit organisation and the community residing in Sadhana Forest, the students participated in a one-hour session to learn about the lifestyle, living conditions, vegetation, culture, and principles of the community members, who adhere to veganism.
