One Day Environmental studies Educational Trip to Puducherry

Detailed report of the trip: The students of BA English went on a one day educational trip to Puducherry on 23rd December 2023, along with the respective class teachers and the Head of the Department, Mr. Praveen Prabhu. The Journey began with the blessings of God, as students and staff gathered for Pooja and rituals. The arranged transportation commenced at around 8 am from the college premises and arrived at Sadhana Forest, Auroville, Tamil Nadu, approximately by 1 pm. Warmly welcomed by members of the non-profit organisation and the community residing in Sadhana Forest, the students participated in a one-hour session to learn about the lifestyle, living conditions, vegetation, culture, and principles of the community members, who adhere to veganism. Subsequently, students and staff were taken on a short tour of some key locations within the forest. The P. G. Department of English conducted a National Conference on " Approaches towards Science Fiction and Artificial Intelligence in English Language and Literature " on 26th October, 2023. The Guest of Honour for the inauguration was Mr G Grahadurai , Deputy Director, Range Operations, SDSC - SHAR, ISRO, Srihari Kota. The Keynote speaker was Dr Raisun Mathew , Assistant Professor, Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Kerla. Department of English conducted the fourth session of ABL Activity Based Learning - Gamification with modals for the students of BA English. The main objective of the ABL Club is to enrich students in English Grammar, vocabulary, English skills and competency skills. An interactive and fun ABL session was conducted on Modal Verbs. This session was important for students to enrich their daily learning in English. It enhances a speaker in speaking ability, making requests and offers, asking permission, and more. The session consisted of various activities using ICT tools including activities like learning modals through question making, Traffic rules and modals, crossword puzzles and modal verbs.
